AB Several factors contribute to malnutrition during HIV infection. These
factors can be grouped into three categories: hypermetabolism,
inadequate intake, and malabsorption. This article presents a brief
overview of these categories and offers suggestions to help the home
healthcare nurse manage nutritional interferences. Useful resources are
also included.
